My journey from architecture to upholstery might seem unexpected, but both crafts share a fundamental truth: the beauty lies in the details.
As an architect, I spent years studying how spaces and structures come together.
Now, I apply that same precision and analytical eye to breathing new life into furniture that others might consider past its prime.
There is something magical about a well-crafted chair – the way it combines form and function, the stories it could tell of conversations shared and quiet moments enjoyed.
My personal collection of chairs started as a hobby, each piece carefully chosen for its unique character or design significance.
However, as my appreciation for these pieces grew, so did my desire to preserve them. I couldn't bear to see beautifully designed furniture discarded simply because its upholstery had worn thin.
This passion for preservation led me to master the art of upholstery, where I discovered that my architectural background gave me a unique perspective on structure, proportion, and the interplay of materials.
I combine traditional upholstery techniques with contemporary design sensibilities to give cherished pieces a second chance, keeping our design heritage alive and our landfills a little less full.
